For the best mastering result, please send a clean stereo mix export. The better the mix is prepared, the better the final master can sound.

  • Preferred format: WAV, 24-bit or 32-bit float.
  • Sample rate: 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz.
  • Headroom: peaks around -6 dBFS to -3 dBFS
  • No clipping: avoid red clipping on the master output.
  • No limiter: remove aggressive master bus limiting unless it is part of the creative sound.
  • Reference track: you can send one or two songs that represent the loudness, tone, or vibe you like.

If your mix has technical problems, I’ll let you know before mastering. Sometimes a small mix adjustment can make a much bigger difference than forcing the mastering to fix everything.

Please send your final mix as an uncompressed WAV file, preferably 24-bit or 32-bit float. Keep the same sample rate used in your project and avoid clipping on the master output. MP3 files should only be used as references, not as the main mastering source.

A good starting point is to leave the loudest peaks around -6 dBFS to -3 dBFS. The exact number is less important than sending a clean, undistorted mix with no clipping and no aggressive limiter on the master bus.

Remove limiters, clippers, or loudness maximizers unless they are essential to the sound. You can keep subtle mix bus EQ, compression, tape saturation, or color processing if they are part of your creative mix decision.
