Mixing and Mastering Portfolio

My name is Marius Simion, and I am the mixing and mastering engineer behind SongMixMaster.com. Over the years, I have worked with independent artists, producers, rappers, singers, songwriters, and musicians who needed their songs to feel more balanced, polished, loud, clear, and ready for release.

My portfolio reflects professional mixing, mastering, vocal mixing, 2-track mixing, and mix preparation work for independent artists and producers. I focus on tonal balance, vocal clarity, low-end control, punch, dynamics, stereo image, loudness, and translation so each song feels ready for release without losing its original emotion.

What I Listen For When Mixing and Mastering

When I work on a song, I am not only listening for loudness or brightness. I am listening for the things that decide whether a track feels finished in the real world. A mix can sound exciting in headphones but fall apart in the car. A master can sound loud but lose punch. A vocal can sound clear in solo but disappear inside the beat. These are the problems I try to solve before the listener ever hears the song.

My work usually focuses on:

  • Tonal balance so the track does not feel too dark, too harsh, too thin, or too muddy.
  • Low-end control so the kick, bass, and 808 feel powerful without swallowing the mix.
  • Vocal clarity so the performance stays present, emotional, and understandable.
  • Dynamic integrity so the song keeps punch, movement, and impact.
  • Stereo balance so the mix feels wide without losing center focus.
  • Translation so the track works on headphones, monitors, cars, phones, earbuds, and small speakers.
  • Release confidence so the final version feels ready to upload, share, promote, and perform.

FAQ

Add your strongest examples of mixing, mastering, vocal mixing, 2-track mixing, and before-and-after work. A curated selection is usually better than a long list. Choose examples that show clear improvements in vocal clarity, low-end control, balance, loudness, punch, and translation.

You should only add unreleased client songs if you have permission from the artist or rights holder. Many artists prefer to keep unreleased music private, so it is better to use approved clips, released songs, or anonymized before-and-after examples.

Yes, before-and-after examples can be very useful because they show what mixing and mastering actually changed. Use short clips with permission and make sure the comparison is level-matched where appropriate so visitors hear the tonal and balance improvements, not only a louder version.

Artists should send the best available files, a rough mix, reference tracks, BPM, key if known, and notes about the sound they want. For mixing, separate stems or vocal files are needed. For mastering, a clean stereo mix with headroom is usually required.

Yes, this is called 2-track mixing. If you only have vocals and one finished beat file, the vocal can still be mixed into the instrumental. The beat can be shaped as one stereo file, but its individual drums, bass, and instruments cannot be changed separately.

The goal of professional mastering is to prepare the final mix for release by improving tonal balance, loudness, dynamics, stereo balance, true peak control, and translation across playback systems. Mastering should polish a strong mix, not replace proper mixing decisions.

I only had vocals and a finished beat, so I was not sure how much could be done. Marius explained the limits of 2-track mixing clearly and still managed to make the vocal fit the instrumental much better. The result sounded clean, natural, and professional.

Jordan Hayes / USA Hip-Hop Artist

Marius was great to work with from start to finish. I sent a revised mix after realizing I had missed a few things, and he handled it without making the process stressful. The final master sounded clean, loud, balanced, and much more professional than what I had before. I’m very happy with the result.

Daniel Morris / Independent Artist

I highly recommend Song Mix Master. Marius understood what I wanted from the track, but he also heard what the song actually needed. The vocals became clearer, the low end felt tighter, and the whole mix translated much better. Fast, patient, and easy to communicate with.

Laura Bennett / Independent Artist

What I appreciated most was that Marius did not treat the project like a generic mix. He listened to the music, understood the direction, and adjusted his approach around the song. The final version brought out details I had not noticed before, and it made me think about my own production in a more focused way.

Ready-Made Preset Packs

Mastering presets are not a replacement for learning audio mastering, but they give you faster starting points for EQ, compression, limiting, saturation, loudness control and final polish. Use these preset packs to move faster, then adjust every setting to fit your mix, genre and loudness target.
